This is a replacement post with our last five fellows having all successfully moved on to national training number posts.
Salisbury Urology department includes 8 consultants, 6 resident doctors, 3 FY1 doctors and 7 urology specialist nurses. In addition to general urology we also undertake robotic surgery, tertiary female, and reconstructive surgery, HoLEP and complex stone surgery (PCNL). The Duke of Cornwall Spinal Injury Centre is based in Salisbury Hospital and covers the south and southwest of England with an 11 million patient catchment. You will have the opportunity to work alongside our neuro-urology consultants to provide urological assessment and care for these patients.
This post offers dedicated 1:1 teaching in outpatients, video-urodynamics, theatres, and endoscopy. There would be an expectation that the post holder contributes to the urology on-call rota at a middle grade level participating in Reg of the week covering the urology on-call 1 in 5 or 6 weeks.The current out of hours on-call commitments are one Saturday 24 hr on call every 5 weeks with no other night or evening on calls. All on calls are supported by consultant cover.
