An exciting
opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking General
Medical Practitioner to join the First Coastal PCN in a new role that will be
developed as it progresses. The
post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs
in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all
registered and temporary patients.
At present,
First Coastal PCN does not have Home Office sponsorship status. This means that
we are currently unable to provide any assistance with visas and all applicants and employees must have indefinite right to work in the UK in order to qualify
for the job roles we offer. This may change in the future due to ongoing work.
To undertake
duties governed by the contract and Direct and Local Enhanced Services
including-
A
variety of duties including face to face surgery consultations, telephone
consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing
repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in
a timely fashion.
In
general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and
responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
First Coastal
PCN covers a population of approximately 84,000 patients, this is made up of
seven practices, Marsico Medical Practice (Mablethorpe), Hawthorn Medical
Practice (Skegness), Beacon Medical Practice (Skegness), Merton Lodge (Alford),
Spilsby Surgery, Stickney Surgery and Old Leake Medical Practice. These
practices work together to deliver care to the local
population.

To undertake
duties governed by the contract and Direct and Local Enhanced Services
including-
A
variety of duties including face to face surgery consultations, telephone
consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing
repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in
a timely fashion
Making
professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether
self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the
organisation
Assessing
the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed
problems
Screening
patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
In
consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management
protocols, developing care plans for health
Providing
counselling and health education
Admitting
or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care
providers as appropriate
Recording
clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
Collecting
data for audit purposes
Administration
– dealing with queries, patient test results, referral letters, task, emails
and other paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner
Compiling
and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
Prescribing
in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever
this is clinically appropriate
In
general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and
responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
Cover
all the clinical management of the patients in surgery as appropriate including
initiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals to secondary
care or to other providers as appropriate
Develop
care and treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with current
Practice disease management protocols as well as wider guidance such as that
from NICE.
The
successful applicant will be engaged as a General Medical Practitioner under
the Additional Role Reimbursement Scheme and will be employed on terms and
conditions which are no less favourable than those contained in the document
entitled Model terms and conditions of service for a salaried general
