The University of Leeds is one of the top 80 universities in the world. We have a truly global community, with more than 39,000 students from 170 different countries and over 9,000 staff of 100 different nationalities. Established in 1904, we have a strong tradition of academic excellence, reflected in first-class student education, along with world-leading research that has a real impact around the globe.
This role will contribute to the delivery of behavioural science research within the programme led by Professor Samuel Smith, which focuses on behaviours related to the prevention and management of cancer, including weight management, physical activity, medication adherence and screening participation.
The postholder will support the delivery of an NIHR-funded behavioural clinical trial (ROSETA), including coordinating research activities, conducting interviews, and collating and analysing data in line with established protocols. They will contribute to the preparation of reports, literature reviews, academic publications and funding applications, working both independently and collaboratively as part of a wider research team.
The role requires effective organisation and prioritisation of a varied workload, including managing multiple tasks to meet deadlines while working with a degree of autonomy and seeking guidance where appropriate. The postholder will also engage with a range of stakeholders, contribute to research group activities including presenting outputs, and support the ongoing development of the research programme through generating ideas and maintaining up-to-date knowledge in the field.
There will be opportunities to contribute to the development of new research proposals and, where appropriate, to pursue personal research and funding interests in line with the objectives of the research group.
