The Hackney Educational Psychology service is a vibrant, diverse, and innovative team committed to supporting the emotional, social, and educational well-being of children and young people (CYP) across the Hackney community.

We are currently recruiting for Assistant Educational Psychologists to join us at a pivotal time. You will play a crucial role in our service by actively contributing to the delivery of the SEND reforms across educational settings within the London Borough of Hackney.

About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to gain high-quality experience working alongside experienced Educational Psychologists. You will be involved in:

• Delivering SEND Reforms: Supporting the implementation of new legislation and frameworks to improve outcomes for CYP with special educational needs and disabilities.
• Assessment & Intervention: Assisting with observations, data analysis, and the delivery of evidence-based interventions.
• Collaborative Practice: Working within a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) to provide coordinated support to schools, families, and professionals.
• Research & Development: Contributing to research projects and disseminating findings to support inclusive practice.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for individuals who share our commitment to inclusive values, specifically anti-racist and anti-oppressive practice.

Essential Criteria

• A Psychology degree (or equivalent).
• At least 1 year of experience working with children and young people (this does not need to be continuous).

Desired Skills & Experience

• Evidence of applying psychological theory to work with CYP and an understanding of the Local Authority Educational Psychologist role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage workloads effectively.
• An understanding of SEND reforms and relevant legislation.
• A proactive approach to research, presentation, and intervention delivery.
