Accounts Payable Assistant (6-Month FTC) Colchester, Essex (Hybrid Working)

Your New Role

You will join the finance team on a 6-month fixed term contract, supporting the purchase ledger function during a busy transitional period. This is a hybrid role, with 2-3 days per week in the Colchester office, working Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
Your key responsibilities will include:

• Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
• Matching, batching, and coding invoices to purchase orders
• Preparing and processing supplier payment runs
• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving queries
• Managing supplier queries via phone and email
• Maintaining accurate records within the purchase ledger
• Supporting month-end processes and reporting
• Liaising with internal teams to resolve invoice discrepancies

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or finance role
• Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
• Experience with Sage 50 (preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Please note: You must be eligible for UK SC Clearance due to the nature of the organisation’s work.
