The CAMHS directorate
in North Yorkshire and York locality of TEWV is comprised of the two York
Community CAMHS teams based at Orca House, the Selby team based at Worsley
Court, the Harrogate Team based at Hummingbird House, the Scarborough Team
based at Lake House and the Northallerton Team based at North Moor House with a
peripheral clinic in Colburn, the Eating Disorder team and the CAMHS crisis
team both based across the whole locality.
This post will provide input into
Harrogate part of the North Yorkshire and York service.
It has a Single Point
of Access service staffed by an experienced staff team who triage and provide a
telephone consultation service to families and referrers. The SPA responds to
all referrals and help young people and their families with the process of
navigating through the options to find a service that meets their needs. The
service works with a model of brief intervention to empower young people and
their families in achieving good mental health and well-being. Staff job plans
are designed to deliver services described in the TEWV Clinical Pathways, to
provide high quality evidence-based care.
This post
arises from a consultant moving to another post within the service, prior to
recruiting to this post there had been a substantive consultant in post.
The Team is based at Hummingbird House in Harrogate. The team serves the
Harrogate area including Ripon, Masham and Pateley Bridge and includes
(Wetherby) a GP practice in Wetherby.
The post holder will, with their consultant colleagues, see all
presentations, requiring the input of a psychiatrist arising from the secondary
schools and their feeder primary schools within the Harrogate sector. The
consultant would expect to hold a caseload of around 60 based on current
consultant caseload and would be asked to see approximately 1 new assessment
per week. The service supports a model whereby all cases are co-worked with
other members of the MDT, key worker role usually held by a non-psychiatrist,
except where there is a formal mutual agreement that sole consultant input is
required with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
The Consultant joining the team will be expected to work in accordance
with GMC guidance for working in multiagency and multidisciplinary teams. The
Consultant will be expected to work flexibly.
The post will follow a 4 PA (Direct Clinical Care) and 2PA (Supporting
Professional Activities) job plan. This will allow the post holder to develop
protected time each week to pursue additional interests such as medical
education or leadership opportunities.
We are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country operating from sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby. We provide a range inpatient and community services to people living in County Durham, the Tees Valley, Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire. We also provide additional specialist services to other parts of Northern England.
We deliver our services by working in partnership with eight local authorities and clinical commissioning groups, a wide range of voluntary organisations, as well as service users, their carers and the public.
Psychiatrists are essential
contributors to our mental health teams. Service users expect and are justified
to expect collaborative relationships with dedicated psychiatrists who work
consistently as part of effective services. The Medical Directorate and Medical
Development Team are striving to improve medical workforce recruitment and
retention in a variety of ways and the cornerstone of these efforts is The TEWV
Charter for the Medical Workforce. (Please see attached Supporting Document).
