Credit Control Clerk Job at Castleford, West Yorkshire Full Time

Reed Accountancy & Finance are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing organisation for an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business undergoing positive change, including systems transformation and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure customers settle outstanding accounts within agreed terms to maximise cashflow
• Carry out aged debt analysis, identifying risks, payment trends, and supporting cashflow forecasting
• Produce regular reports for management and wider business stakeholders
• Manage customer queries from start to finish, ensuring timely and effective resolution
• Investigate and resolve non-payment issues, collaborating cross-functionally to achieve outcomes
• Take ownership of customer account setup, including credit checks and accurate data entry
• Support the team by covering responsibilities during absences and contributing to a collaborative working environment
• Adapt to changing business needs and support ongoing transformation initiatives
• Assist with the migration of legacy systems to a new ERP platform
• Build strong relationships with customers, including periodic face-to-face meetings
• Support audit processes and contribute to continuous improvement projects within credit control
• Undertake regular reviews with internal stakeholders to maintain strong account management

About You:

• Proven experience within credit control and debt collection
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve issues effectively
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Confident communicator with strong customer service skills across phone and email
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently
