This is a pivotal leadership role within a complex, high‑profile maternity service. Working closely with the Director of Midwifery and senior leadership team, you will be responsible for workforce, quality, safety and governance, providing clear assurance that services are safe, sustainable and continually improving. You will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of maternity services at OUH, balancing operational delivery with longer‑term transformation and workforce sustainability.
We are looking for a senior midwifery leader with a strong track record in clinical governance, safe staffing and service improvement, who is values‑led and trauma‑informed in their leadership approach. You will work in close partnership with women, families and communities, and act as a senior maternity leader within the local maternity and neonatal system, influencing system strategy and reducing inequalities in outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference for women, birthing people, babies and staff, within a Trust that is committed to compassionate leadership, learning and continuous improvement.
The post holder will provide senior leadership across maternity services, ensuring delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care and achievement of agreed performance, quality and financial plan.
The Head of Midwifery will deputise for the Director of Midwifery as required.
