Part Time: 15 Hours per week Thursdays and Fridays
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated part-time CAMHS Practitioner to join the SET-CAMHS Single Point of Access (SPA) Team.
The SET CAMHS Single Point of Access (SPA) team is the front door into specialist children and young peoples mental health services across South Essex. The service is responsible for the screening, triaging and referring into SET CAMHS pathways or providing signposting recommendations. Ensuring that children, young people and families receive appropriate support.
Working within the Thrive model, the SPA team promotes a needs-led and collaborative approach, working closely with community SET CAMHS teams and partner agencies across health, education, social care and the voluntary sector. The aim is to ensure safe, effective and timely decision-making, and to support positive outcomes for young people and their families.
This role involves gathering and reviewing referral information, undertaking clinical screening, conducting triage calls and risk assessing. Contributing to robust formulation and decision-making regarding the most appropriate care pathway. The post holder will play a key role in ensuring consistency, quality and safety in the referral and allocation process.
Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will join a friendly, supportive and dynamic SPA team based in Essex. You will work alongside experienced and motivated colleagues and will have access to regular supervision, both individually and in group settings, as well as opportunities for continuing professional development (CPD).
We are looking for a practitioner who is enthusiastic about improving access to mental health services for children and young people, and who can demonstrate strong assessment, communication and decision-making skills. The role requires the ability to manage a varied workload, work independently within a busy service, and contribute effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

We work to ensure our patients, their friends and family, feel confident that their health needs are well met.
