Role Description This is a full-time or part-time, remote role for an International Student Advisor. The International Student Advisor will support prospective and current international students throughout the student lifecycle, from inquiry and application through enrollment, progression, and completion. Daily responsibilities include advising students on academic options, admission requirements, and program structures, as well as providing guidance on visas, immigration compliance, and international study considerations in collaboration with relevant regulatory frameworks. The advisor will respond to student queries via email, video calls, and other digital channels, maintain accurate records, and coordinate with academic, admissions, and student support teams to ensure a smooth and inclusive student experience. The role also involves contributing to orientation activities, developing advising resources, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and services for international learners.

Qualifications

• Experience working with international students and understanding of their unique academic, personal, and cultural support needs.
• Demonstrated skills in student counseling, advising, or guidance, with a focus on empathetic, student-centered support.
• Strong communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication across diverse cultures and time zones.
• Knowledge of international education systems and pathways, and familiarity with global higher education trends.
• Experience with SEVIS or similar international student information and compliance systems, and awareness of immigration-related regulations (or willingness to learn quickly).
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple cases and priorities, and maintain accurate digital records.
• Bachelor’s degree in education, international relations, counseling, or a related field; relevant postgraduate study is an advantage.
• Prior experience in higher education, student services, or international programs, ideally in an online or flexible learning context.
• Demonstrated intercultural competence, commitment to equity and inclusion, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
